Most people who money doesn't usually want to know that there are really poor people that are having trouble making a living. I was willing to read articles about the travails of the working poor or the adjustment problems of older, unskilled immigrants. I just didn't want to watch her limp" (Fallows 60). Rich people don't really want to believe there are poor and sick people out there. They want to believe that if they can become rich anyone can become rich. It's hard for some people to fully understand why there are so many poor people around. Rich people want to believe that if they can become wealthy anyone can. " During a recession or hard econmic times, you'll read lots of stories about people out of work or homeless people. During a boom it seems unimaginable even if it's going on. Some people think money can buy love and happiness. Others think buying cars, fancy houses or ton of other recreational things with their money makes them better then other people " Some calculate the meaning of success in terms of multi-digit salaries or the acreage of their country estates" (Colombo ).Rich people belief money will make them happy, so they spend every moment trying to get as rich as possible. Poorer people tend to be more family orientated. Poorer people tend to borrow money from the rich people and get in debt. "I left the bread route with fifty dollars in my pocket. I went to the bank and borrowed four thousand dollars to buy a service station" (Terkel 56). Banks love lending people money. That's their way of taking money from us. People have a hard time saving and investing money. If someone has to always pay somebody back they have no way of saving it. In Fallows he talks about this problem, " A man in his twenties said $1 million, and a man in his forties said $15 million" (Fallows 6). This really means that these two different age groups think that these figures would make them happy. I believe if someone is truly happy in what they are doing the money doesn't really matter to them. Money is just paper, it cant buy love.
I have stated that if someone wants power they would need to get money. Money does buy almost anything a person needs and wants. People can use money to persuade people, to buy people and scare people. Rich people can almost get anything they want. I f they have a family member that's got in trouble with the law
